Motoko MITO(Violine)

Motoko Mito is regarded as one of the most original and creative artists on the international music scene. After graduating from Toho Music School, she continued her studies at the Winterthur Conservatory in Switzerland and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, where she performed a Mozart Concerto in the International Mozart Week. She has been invited to perform as a soloist and chamber musician in concert venues and music festivals aroud the world.  Between 1987 ~ 1990 she was a member of the Salzburg String Quartet and in 1987 formed the St. Florian Trio, performing the complete Beethoven Piano Trios in Tokyo in 2005. 

In 1992 she returned to Japan and formed the Kleines Konzerthaus ensemble, a flexible group of outstanding Japanese musicians, which she leads. The ensemble performs as quartet, quintet, sextet, octet, and chamber orchestra.

 She has received critical acclaim for her performances of the complete chamber music works of Mozart and Beethoven in the most important concert halls of Tokyo. In 2006 she performed Khachaturian Concerto in Tokyo, in 2006 and 2007 Brahms Double Concero in Austria and Tokyo, in 2007 Bach A minor Concerto in Tokyo, and 2009 Brahms Violin Concerto in Tokyo. In 2006, 2008 and 2010 she performed the complete works by Bach for unaccompanied violin in Tokyo. She gives violin recitals every year in Tokyo and regularly in Budapest and Vienna.

 In 1996 she made her Carnegie Hall debut and has since performed throughout America, Europe, Mexico, China and Africa. . In 2009 her CD recording of Dohnanyi and Fibich chamber music was issued.
